A hero is someone who posesses extraordinary personal traits, accomplishes difficult goals that most people would not even try, and is an inspiration to all.  A hero conducts himself in this manner not for accolades or fanfare, but simply because this is who he is.  For these reasons, Lt. Colonel Kevin Sonnenberg will always be remembered as a hero.

Kevin was filled with great love.  His love for the Lord brought him to devote his life to the service of Christ.  As a loving family man he could always be counted on to provide for and help his family members at all times.  Love of country led Kevin to defend and ultimately lay down his life for this great nation so that our freedoms that we treasure so greatly will remain preserved.

In the spirit of a true renaissance man, Kevin could seamlessly transition from an F-16 or Delta Airlines pilot one day, to a farmer behind the wheel of his John Deere tractor, or a carpenter finishing another woodworking masterpiece the next.  He approached these tasks with the humble, hard-working, and driven determination which defined the man who Kevin was and always will be: a HERO!
